I totally understand what you are saying about the long-distance, having doen it myself for far too long. It makes me very thankful that now there is only 10 minutes and a few roads rather than an ocean between me and mine. Hopefully a simnilar reduction in distance can happen for you as soon as is practical.

Also just a little jealous for Skype, back in 2001-2003 my phone bills were sometimes remarkably painful.
