...The whole house, all at once. Big truck. Lots of lights, and support vehicles. I passed it (on the footpath) on the way home from gaming tonight, just as it was getting near the roundabout at the end of Colombo St.1. Just watching them slowly edging towards the tilty annoying-to-navigate-when-you're-house-sized terrain was enough to make me think "you poor, poor bastards".

I got next to nothing done today. Last night I finally slept around 5am and woke late, to find I'd been having nightmares again and my body was one big cramp. So I've had a day of painful stumbling around and having difficulty concentrating on my reading, and now I have insomnia again. (So I bring you this entry at nigh on 5am. Gah.) I should really see a doctor and get an emergency supply of anti-inflammatories or something to keep on hand the next time this happens, to see if they'll help.

All in all, I'd rather do my exercising while I'm awake, but I guess it keeps me fit, in a broken kind of way. That's one thing I really do miss about being un-single: having someone else in the bed always made it a lot easier to chase the bad dreams away get a good night's sleep. One day, maybe. At least the rest of my life's a lot more sorted nowadays than it used to be.

[1] - for those unfamiliar with Christchurch, the main street in the city, just where it reaches the Port Hills and starts going sharply up. Some of the Port Hills have names that start with "Mount", too. The rest of the city is pretty much as flat as a pancake, due to being reclaimed swamp on an alluvial flood plain. Whee.
