I've finally bought myself a new bike (more on that later) to replace the one stolen from outside the CompSci department a while back. With the lucky advent of some relatively fine weather, I ventured out to the Christchurch Farmers Market at Riccarton Bush, with short stop in at Bramptons for Euronostalgic snacky treats. The haul follows.
Market:
- Colombian empanada
- Cornish pasties [one large, one cheesy]
- Moroccan spicy lamb sausages
- Chorizo [with paprika]
- Pane di casa [sourdough]
- Ginger, apple and pear juice
- Eve's Cider [good straight or mulled]
- Wigram Brewing Co. four pack:
- Dakota Dark
- Harvard Honey Ale [fresh new batch]
- Münchner Dunkel
- James Cook Spruce Beer [18th Century recipe - "spruce" actually rimu shoots + manuka]
- HobNobs [dark choc]
- Haribo Goldbears
It's probably a good thing I was just carrying a backpack, else the urge to buy more nice things could have overcome me. (Still, there's always next time...) I will say though, it's nice to be able to look at a food, ask the maker what's in it, and taste it before you buy.
