I've finally bought myself a new bike (more on that later) to replace the one stolen from outside the CompSci department a while back. With the lucky advent of some relatively fine weather, I ventured out to the Christchurch Farmers Market at Riccarton Bush, with short stop in at Bramptons for Euronostalgic snacky treats. The haul follows.

Market:

  • Colombian empanada
  • Cornish pasties [one large, one cheesy]
  • Moroccan spicy lamb sausages
  • Chorizo [with paprika]
  • Pane di casa [sourdough]
  • Ginger, apple and pear juice
  • Eve's Cider [good straight or mulled]
  • Wigram Brewing Co. four pack:
    • Dakota Dark
    • Harvard Honey Ale [fresh new batch]
    • Münchner Dunkel
    • James Cook Spruce Beer [18th Century recipe - "spruce" actually rimu shoots + manuka]
Bramptons:
  • HobNobs [dark choc]
  • Haribo Goldbears

It's probably a good thing I was just carrying a backpack, else the urge to buy more nice things could have overcome me. (Still, there's always next time...) I will say though, it's nice to be able to look at a food, ask the maker what's in it, and taste it before you buy.
