Haven't been in to the lab recently - I've been having a rather bad time of things lately, and have quite a lot of pulled muscles and general fatigue that's making it night impossible to get any decent work done. Medication, dietary supplements and trying to eat well are helping to fix me bit by bit, but it's slow going.

As a result of the health issues I've been having, I'm not going to be finishing my thesis by June 30th. On the plus side, my Human Ethics Committee approval came through with no hitches, and I'll have plenty of time to recruit enough people for my interaction study. On the negative side, I need to pay the university another $3000 or so to finish my degree. I'm still owed several hundred dollars by my last flatmate (who doesn't seem to be updating his journal or answering his email anymore, and also has a backlog of mail I need to forward to him), so this counts as rather financially stressy indeed - especially considering the month and a half that I was completely without income due to not being aggressive enough in beating bureaucracies around the head when they didn't reply to my emails about student allowances.

I went out to do grocery shopping the other day, but needed to go to bed when I got home because I was too tired to do anything else. I don't like being in a situation where I have to budget my spoons. Spending much more time at home than I'd like to. Trying not to go stir crazy. Glad I'm not living alone, or I'd be spending a lot of time not bothering to get out of bed, let alone talk with people.

[edit for clarity: I don't have lupus - it's just that the spoon thing is a useful metaphor to use when I'm feeling this fatigued.]

I cleaned my large pot yesterday, and cooked 5 litres of soup in it today. So now I have a bunch of small meals that just require a little ladelling and microwave time to prepare. Feel free to share, if you're in the area (not vegetarian, sorry - I put some chicken stock in).
