Righto. I've found a place to live, and people to live there with. It's quite close to Riccarton Mall, so those of you who think Cashmere is too far away to be bothered coming to visit when you say you will won't have as much excuse. The room I'll be moving into is a little bigger than my current one, which is always nice, and will be easier to heat in winter. Costs a little more, but I won't need to spend anywhere near as much on buses.

In related news, I just got off the phone with TelstraClear customer support about moving my current services to the new flat. The person I talked to there was clear, helpful, outgoing and neither sullen nor overly cheerful at me. Not only that, it's going to cost far less to get things installed in the new place than I feared it would, and there will be no new 1- or 2-year service contract. All good.

Got my chest x-rayed the other day, too - two months after it was ordered. Ironically, just as I'm starting to feel considerably healthier. Heh.

So. Moving out around the 25th, all going well. A side-effect of that is that there will be a $225/wk three bedroom flat in Cashmere going empty. If you think you might be interested in moving into the place, I'd suggest talking with my sister [livejournal.com profile] atropus, who lives downstairs with a friend and a fiance.
