My laptop's graphics card has died, with vertical lines showing on the screen when I power up and nothing else. Not so fun. Thankfully it's still under warranty for a few months yet, so they'll be sending a tech out on Thursday to replace it. It does rather remind me that we're not building things to last anymore, though...

My laptop has become twitchy too. I'm pretty sure it's a product of electromigration and inadequate cooling.

What kind of graphics card is it? I did a bit of looking around online, and it seems that the whole series of the card I have is prone to failure.
