Hot on the heels of Steampunk M.C. Hammer, it's part of Edgar Allan Poe's original screenplay for Top Gun:

"But for Goose, still beguiling all my sad soul into smiling,
 Straight I wheeled a cushioned seat in metal bird with cockpit door;
 Then, upon the pilot sinking, I betook myself to linking
 Fancy unto fancy, thinking: could this ominous Tomcat soar?
 But this grim, ungainly, ghastly, gaunt, and ominous spin of yaw
 Meant ejecting nevermore..."

This is all dj_fact50's fault, for changing his profile pic on Facebook to an image of Mr. Poe wearing aviators, and thus goading my brain into further Wrong.
