(no subject)

Note to self:
Don't get involved in arguments on the internet.
Especially not about religion.
Even if none of the religions involved is yours.

Oops :-)

Sad. So very, very sad. I weep at the future of ecumenical dialogue, with educated examples as these loitering about.

What Morbid said, with the understanding that these are the type of kiddos who think the stage dressing is the whole substance, and frequently don't even get the stage dressing right. (See "Crowley as author of Satanic Bible" silliness; that was Anton LeVey.)

People will have Closed Minds

People will have closed minds until they want them to be open, which makes discussions frustrating if you are actually trying to convey some insight. Most of the time conveying some history can be difficult :)

Having said that, I love having arguments about religion because of the pointless nature of the endeavor. Once in a while I manage to learn some history and teach some in return\ldots

It seemed to me that you were the only person who actually knew what they were talking about.

But...it's fun!

you just gotta know when to quit, before it turns from fun to frustrating.

That's one of those lessons that I still have yet to learn.
