Things that go boom in the night..?
Mar. 11th, 2004 03:36 amCurious. A couple of loud noises have originated from town tonight - one around 11:15pm, and one about half an hour ago. The thing is, no-one seems to know what's caused them. Odd indeed.
I hurt my foot slightly playing Duck Duck Goose (or whatever it's called) today. That'll teach me to run around barefoot on freshly sunshowered-on grass. Not helping with the insomnia, but.
gsv has successfully infected me with the Minuit earworm. I just got a copy of "The 88", and it's just too catchy and listenable. And vocally interesting, too. I have lyrics running around in my head. Not sure what the best genre description would be - they're kind of like Lamb, though. Breakbeaty and maybe trip-hoppy?
Music samples, video and online purchasing available through Amplifier and SmokeCDs (which at this moment seems to have an ad up for a site I originally designed and built back in 2001, though it's changed a bit since. Cool.)
Oh, and congratulations to the lovely and talented
kphoebe for attaining a life membership in DramaSoc! Well-deserved indeed :-) You rock muchly.
[edit: Put in the URL for the SmokeCDs page this time. That's what I get for posting just before I go to bed.]

Date: 2004-03-11 05:07 am (UTC)Police were last night trying to trace the source of loud booming noises heard across Christchurch. One of the noises was clearly audible in the central city shortly after 11pm, but reports of the bangs had also come from the eastern suburbs. Snr Sgt Tony Ellis, of the police southern communications centre, said police were "actively seeking people responsible" for causing the bangs. It was not known how the noises were being made.
