Tutorials seem to be going a lot better this week, now that we have more computers that work. Some of our students are already building grand palaces on stepped pyramids, towns full of giant trees and the like. Only a few people in the class have placed statues around their city only to find they turn into gargoyles and slaughter people. Huzzah!

On a not-so-huzzah note, the two books I tried to get out of the library today weren't available. In the catalogue they're listed with a Location of "Shelved on Level 4" and a Status of "New book display". What this actually means is that they're on display in a special area of Level 2 of the library, and unavailable to be checked out. Upon requesting them, I found that I have to wait in line between 2 or 3 other people to get each book. Pesky.

Is that Hamish setting things on fire in your icon?

Yes, yes it is. From the "Survivor: Bunker" party. Two of the things he is setting on fire in said icon are my forearms (as seen top-left). Luckily I was far enough back that they merely singed the hair a bit and made the skin feel itchy for a couple of days as it healed. We still have light blackish scorch marks on the porch roof, too.

Next time I shall have to Stand Well Back a bit more, methinks.

Hey, I hear you're freezing to death down there. What do you say we avarage our temperatures? I'm at 100F/37.8C. I'm guessing the combination would come out somewhat liveable.
