IM IN UR CLASSROOM, SK00LING UR KIDZ
Sep. 27th, 2006 08:09 pmSpent today in charge of a class of 10- to 14-year-old kids, trying to teach them how to build game stuff using the Neverwinter Nights toolkit. Unfortunately, due to graphics drivers crashing (requiring the computers to be reset and the game reinstalled each time), I spent most of the day bailing water out of the sinking boat trying to install the software on as many spare computers as possible.
I think we had at least one crash per computer, and some had two or more. As a result of this, I didn't get to do anywhere near as much teaching as I would have liked to - most of it was solving small problems on the way to something else that had just crashed.
I'm knackered. And I'm doing this again on Monday. (I'm told that at least the computers we'll be using there are more advanced computers, so hopefully they won't crash as much.)
