I had a fun afternoon.
May. 21st, 2008 05:56 pmI've had a niggling pain in my left foot for a few weeks, which turned into a slightly more distinct pain late in the weekend, which has now turned into a "ohmythatreallydoeshurt" when I put my weight on it. One a scale of 1-10 (9 is having a twisted testicle being manipulated by a careless doctor, 8 is crawling slowly towards the toilet while recovering from a hernia and 2 being a stubbed toe), I'd give it around a 4, or maybe a 5 if I were really careless with it.
So I got a ride into town with Scott, hobbled into work, hobbled across to the medical centre at the appointed time. The nurse informed me that my sister had been in earlier, and that my nephew
babyalexander is cute and well-behaved :-) Dr. Wilson looked at my foot, prodded it to find out where it went "ouch", and referred me for x-rays to the 24-hour surgery place on my bus route home. He was worried that I might have damaged my fifth metatarsal.
Long story short, I have no broken bones. I do however have tendonitis and Plantar fasciitis. Also rest, exercises and therapy to do, anti-inflammatories to take and crutches to walk with for probably the next 2-3 weeks.
Still no broken bones, touch wood. Time enough for that when I'm 80, eh?
