Current news, a.k.a. NZ Post hates me.

Apparently the Scholarships Response Form that I mailed in because I didn't have the energy to get over to the university... didn't arrive there. Thankfully, I've talked to all the people who need to know that yes, I am accepting their nice, shiny scholarship now. They've emailed me a form that I'll print out and fill in on Friday.
On a considerably more minor note, the customer card for use at the local supermarket that was supposed to be mailed out to me still hasn't arrived, either. This is the second one, as the first one didn't arrive back in August, despite their records saying it was.
I feel like I'm in some kind of postal black hole, and wondering if anything else I sent hasn't arrived.
Still, at least I have enough energy now to catch up with some of the work I've been missing, so there are positives. Cleared through a good 40-60 papers and 20-30 or so commercial websites for my summer research job last night, which is a damned sight more productive than I've been in a while. I don't know that it's sustainable, but at least some things are done.

Glad you got the scholarship stuff sorted out, though, and that you're feeling a bit more on top of things.

Date: 2009-01-18 05:53 pm (UTC)Although, it's pretty hard to name a favourite - this was actually the second of his films that I saw but it's the one that hooked me for all time and it's probably still top of the list for me.
Also, that's the first time I've ever heard Orbital's version of the theme (I did not, in fact, know they'd done one!)
And, for once, despite some of the stupid stuff there, the comments have actually served some purpose - that is to say, somebody there mentioned a Goodies tribute to Buster and I have now tracked down the episode to watch a bit later, when I have more time. Yay!
(I haven't really watched the Goodies since I was a kid and I don't remember this episode specifically)
Heh, thanks for sharing. :)

Date: 2009-01-14 07:55 am (UTC)You're right. Your name is on our black list. Who did you piss off?
(Just kidding. Mind you, Post has over a 98% delivery record success for on time delivery, and higher than that for total delivery: if you're regularly not getting stuff, something is being stolen somewhere, and you should complain. At worst, 1 person in 500 misses a single piece of mail in a year...)

Date: 2009-01-14 02:37 pm (UTC)It's not regular, but I've missed about 4-5 pieces of mail in the last two years. Though one of those may have been an issue at the university end, since we have two people in the department with very similar names and I've received his pay before in the past.
