The last three days, in reverse order.

Monday: Went to the chiropractor - I'm apparently making good progress. This is good, as I'm currently living beyond my means paying for it and eating at the same time. Hacked more perl CGI scriptage. Monday night's Feng Shui/Star Wars game may be giving way to playing the Streetfighter RPG instead, if people can be bothered making up characters.

Sunday: Watched more Fushigi Yugi and Handmaid May. The latter is sort of like Tenchi/Megamisama but with robots. Heh. Still, not too bad plot-wise.

In my fortnightly SharpPointyTeeth game, interesting political things are happening; some of the powerful people are leaving, and the resultant power vacuum has people vying for positions of importance. Several people seem to think that Jack, my character, would be a good person to have in charge. Despite his being from a clan of known madmen, and reluctance to be placed in a position of responsiblity unless Really Very Necessary. Joyous. I guess it gives me a few more interesting situations in which to play the role, which is really what makes the game more challenging and fun, after all.

On my way home, I came across a few of the local pagans returning from their Ostara get-together. With the full moon and pleasant weather, a good time for an evening of celebration in the outdoors. Happy vernal/autumnal equinox, to those who celebrate such events.

Saturday: Anime Tribe barbecue at [livejournal.com profile] atropus' place, and watching half of Neon Genesis Evangelion - yes, thirteen episodes. I haven't seen it in English, but I hear that Shinji, the protagonist of the story, is a heck of a lot less whiny when he's only subtitled. I shan't be in too much of a hurry to hear the English voice dub, then.

Later that night, another barbecue at [livejournal.com profile] isaacfreeman's place - and unfortunately poor turnout, but I certainly enjoyed the company of those that were there. It was very nice to talk with fun people who I don't see often, or in some cases at all. Ran into another person I see on Sundays for anime, and matched a face to a LiveJournal usercode. Word for the weekend: confluence.

About 11:30 or so I progressed to my third event of the night - a flatwarming party with a few people I know via Undernet IRC (evil medium that it is). By the time I got there a large number of people had apparently "gone to town". This is a strange phenomenon I have found with some groups of people: not content with having a party where they can drink and socialise and dance, a large group of people will almost inevitably decide that they have a need to go and drink and socialise and dance in a bar or nightclub somewhere. Perhaps it's the lure of overpriced drinks and people they don't know who they may have a chance of picking up for carnal purposes. I don't know. It's an alien practice to me - I'm used to going to a party and having it last until people go home.

All the same, I ended up in a late-night conversation with a fellow who had been to-ing and fro-ing between that party and another across the road over the course of the night. I certainly seem to know how to pick them - this guy was an eclectic Wiccan, self-taught swordsmith and structural engineer who raced penny farthing bicycles, and was hoping to go to some kind of international racing meet in Tasmania soon. He'd also met a few other medievalist friends of mine at their spring picnic in Hagley Park earlier in the day - strange how this confluence stuff works in social circles sometimes, isn't it?

Anyway, I have again been up for too many hours in a row, so it's time to put this newly-found ability to sleep better to good use. See you another time, gentle readers.
